So, I have been working with CentOS 6/6.5 for several months (it’s one of the best variants I’ve worked with in a while), and I have decided to go at it the old fashioned way and forgo zpanel (the opensource xpanel/WHM alt) and the other gui based administration tools. Afterall, Cent was crafted as being an exceptional, lightweight, net-facing server… junking it up with unnecessary resource hogs which require additional open ports seems counterproductive.
Many hosting companies offer what is called a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP/Perl) install. I’m going to try to replicate those features and add roundcube for webmail support.
